HOME DELUXE ARENA Paderborn
RGBW Light Show for the HOME DELUXE ARENA
For the 2022/2023 season, the Paderborn football stadium was given a new name: HOME DELUXE ARENA. To create a striking new visual identity, an extraordinary illuminated sign with animated lettering and harmonious RGBW colour gradients was developed – unique of its kind in Germany.
The Project
DECLARO Werbetechnik was commissioned to implement the large-format illuminated signage for the stadium rebranding. The challenge: four signs were to be created in which each individual letter could be controlled separately and the light colour freely selected.
In addition, individual colour gradients across the entire lettering needed to be programmable. This required an intelligent lighting control system that went far beyond conventional illumination.
The Solution: LED Technology with Individual Control
For the implementation, DECLARO relied on the proven hansen LED Strip. Four LED strips in red, green, blue and white were installed for each letter.
A 4-channel DMX control system from TONI MARONI allows each letter to be controlled individually and any desired RGBW colour to be generated. Dynamic colour gradients across the entire lettering can also be freely programmed.
Precise Planning Despite a Tight Schedule
Only eight weeks were available from the initial quotation to commissioning. Close coordination between DECLARO, hansen and TONI MARONI was therefore essential.
hansen prepared detailed layout and connection plans for the total of 176 and 64 converters used. DECLARO transferred the planning into full-scale production drawings, allowing the installation to be prepared efficiently.
The individual control of every letter required precise planning of the entire cabling and control system.
The Result
Four impressive illuminated signs, each measuring 31.50 metres in length and 2.70 metres in height, transform the façade of the HOME DELUXE ARENA into a dynamic field of light.
With a total of 17,856 LEDs, individual colours, colour gradients and animations can be created. The new light show was commissioned right on schedule for the stadium opening.
Energy-Efficient Despite Its Impact
Despite its impressive dimensions, the system remains energy-efficient. Thanks to hansen GREEN LIGHT TECHNOLOGY, each individual installation consumes less power than a conventional 1,350-watt household hairdryer – while delivering full light output.
