Logistics center on the A43 motorway
With a focus on sustainability
For the new logistics center of the L. STROETMANN group of companies near Senden along the A 43 motorway, a large-scale illuminated signage system was created for three halls. The team from LICHT + WERBETECHNIK HERMANN BRÜCK was involved in the planning from the very beginning. For the implementation, BRÜCK relied on the proven LED technology from hansen.
The Project
When the logistics center was being planned in 2021, the facade signage was already taken into account at an early stage. Technical rooms, cable routes and maintenance-friendly installation were integrated directly into the building planning.
Each of the three halls received a large-format LED sign and an EDEKA logo. Due to the long distances and cable runs, the energy-efficient series connection from hansen played an important role.
Large-Format Illuminated Signage
Each sign is up to 21.50 meters long with a capital letter height of 2.20 meters. Each sign is complemented by an EDEKA tension-fabric lightbox measuring 3.50 × 4.00 meters.
In addition, a 5.00 × 3.00 meter entrance pylon was installed as a guidance system for truck drivers. The lower section of the pylon can be switched separately.
Energy-Efficient with SMART DIMMING
All three halls were connected via a network cable and equipped with a light-dependent control system. This automatically adjusts the brightness according to the ambient light conditions.
When daylight falls below a defined brightness level, the systems switch on simultaneously and dim down as darkness increases. In the morning, the process is reversed.
SMART DIMMING reduces energy consumption and therefore fits perfectly with the sustainable energy concept of the logistics center, which is partly powered by solar energy.
Centralized and Maintenance-Friendly Technology
A total of four pre-configured converter cabinets were manufactured for the three halls. The converters and control technology are centrally located in two technical rooms, making them easily accessible to the L. STROETMANN building services team at all times.
The entrance pylon was also equipped with an inspection hatch. This ensures easy access to the control system and components for maintenance and service work.
Proven LED Technology for Large Dimensions
Red LED rope Super, 50 mA was used for the lettering. The logos were equipped with LED rope with Power LEDs in white, 5000 K and 100 mA.
Despite the impressive dimensions, the entire system was completed on schedule.
The Result
Three halls, large-format logos and a striking entrance pylon create a highly visible presence for the logistics center.
The combination of energy-efficient LED technology, series connection, SMART DIMMING and centralized, maintenance-friendly technology makes this project a powerful and sustainably designed illuminated signage system.
