Miss Pepper in Hilden

swing~light for authentic American diner charm

For an authentic American Diner atmosphere, Miss Pepper in Hilden relies on hansen lighting technology. The flexible swing~light combines design and functionality and showcases the distinctive restaurant façade. The illuminated Statue of Liberty with its glowing crown and torch is a particular highlight.

The project

A striking and durable lighting concept was required for the new Miss Pepper restaurant in Hilden, designed to emphasize the characteristic Diner style even after dark.

The lighting installation was implemented by Frye Lichtwerbung from Hipstedt, a long-standing partner of hansen. hansen was brought on board as the experienced partner for the required LED technology.

The right lighting solution

The requirements were clear: The lighting needed to blend harmoniously into the façade design while creating a coordinated colour effect both during the day and at night.

The choice fell on swing~light, the flexible lighting profile from hansen. Thanks to its flexible silicone outer body, the profile can also be used for demanding shapes and curves.

For this project, swing~light was specially configured in red, yellow and green. The translucent silicone cover creates an even and pleasantly diffused lighting effect.

The implementation

In addition to the lighting profiles, individually equipped converter cabinets from hansen were used. The system was also prepared for future lighting control, which can be added easily if required.

A particular challenge was the Statue of Liberty in front of the restaurant. The delicate crown and torch in particular required a highly flexible solution. With swing~light, even these details could be implemented precisely. The lighting effect is reminiscent of classic neon tubes and therefore fits perfectly with the American Diner style.

The result

The lighting solution impressed both technically and visually. Following an on-site sample installation, the customer gave the green light for implementation.

The illuminated Statue of Liberty is now a distinctive eye-catcher and, together with the colourful façade lighting, gives the restaurant its characteristic look.

The successful cooperation has already opened up further opportunities: Future locations of the Miss Pepper chain are also planned to be equipped with hansen lighting technology.
