S+T Fassaden GmbH Façade Lighting Modern Office Building Lighting Concept Rostock

An extraordinary façade lighting concept was developed for the modern administrative building of S+T Fassaden in Tessin near Rostock. Together with HANSELICHT, hansen developed a customised lighting solution that showcases the façade’s combination of materials in an impressive way, especially at night.

The Project

S+T Fassaden has been specialising in modern façade construction for more than 30 years. Accordingly, the expectations for its own new administrative building were high. The building was designed to be high-quality, modern and eye-catching – particularly due to its highly visible location along the adjacent main road.

The window bands became a key design feature. Red sheet metal panels in the company’s signature colour were combined with open black expanded metal screens. Different mesh sizes were tested using a true-to-scale mock-up to perfectly coordinate the interplay of materials, colour and light.

The Solution: Light as a Design Element

The lighting was intended to do more than simply provide uniform illumination. The red surfaces were designed to appear vibrant, while the light cones of the LEDs were deliberately made visible as part of the overall design.

Together with HANSELICHT, the ideal lighting effect was developed and tested directly on the mock-up using LED samples from hansen. This allowed the lighting concept to be precisely fine-tuned before final implementation.

A time-dependent dusk control system also ensures that the lighting is only activated when it is actually needed, helping to reduce energy consumption.

Individually Manufactured

For the final implementation, individually manufactured hansen LED modules were used. The lighting modules were produced specifically for the project and delivered pre-assembled.

This enabled efficient and on-schedule installation on site.

The Result

Red façade elements, black expanded metal screens and deliberately visible light cones come together to create a distinctive façade design.

The result is a modern and high-quality lighting concept that impresses during the day with its combination of materials and at night with its characteristic play of light.
