The animated Bosch Rexroth corporate logo was brought to life as three-dimensional illuminated signage. Together with Neon Zentgraf, hansen developed an individual lighting and control solution for this demanding project.

The project

Bosch Rexroth has been using an animated logo for some time, in which a colour gradient moves through the individual letters like a wave. This dynamic effect was now to be realised as illuminated, three-dimensional signage at selected locations and trade shows.

Lighting advertising specialist Neon Zentgraf was commissioned with the implementation. For the sophisticated control technology, Neon Zentgraf brought hansen, its long-standing partner, on board.

The right lighting solution

The particular challenge was to make the light dynamically “move” through the letters. Instead of static illumination, the colour gradient was to continuously flow through the entire lettering.

An individual RGB control system was developed for this purpose. The basic components were already available in the hansen product range, while the programming was specifically adapted to Bosch Rexroth’s requirements.

The implementation

Over a period of around eight weeks, the teams worked together on the programming and optimisation of the colour transitions. A prototype served as the basis for testing and coordination with Bosch Rexroth.

Through several optimisation cycles, the control system was refined until both the colour gradients and the desired speed of the lighting movement could be implemented precisely.

The result is now used at several locations as well as at trade shows.

The result

The digital brand element was transformed into three-dimensional, dynamic illuminated signage, making the Bosch Rexroth logo tangible in physical spaces as well.

The combination of proven LED technology, individual RGB control and precise programming creates a flowing colour gradient that visibly moves through the letters.
