HelloFresh in Barleben
25 Metres of Visibility for HelloFresh
In June 2023, HelloFresh opened its largest production facility in Europe in Barleben near Magdeburg. A 25-metre-high advertising tower with three large illuminated HelloFresh logos was built for the new location – highly visible and designed for energy-efficient operation.
The Project
A striking advertising tower was planned to maximise the visibility of the new location. Each of the three illuminated advertising panels measures 18.60 metres in width and 6.50 metres in height.
In addition to visibility, energy efficiency played a key role in the planning. LeuchtBau from Munich, an experienced specialist in the development and construction of advertising towers, brought hansen on board as a project partner.
The Solution: Energy-Efficient LED Technology
The hansen LED hose 2x100 was selected for the illumination. Combined with the new HELENE converter generation, the system enables particularly energy-efficient operation.
A light-dependent control system with a timer additionally ensures that the lighting only operates at full power when it is actually needed.
Another advantage: While the LED technology is installed at the top of the advertising tower, the complete control and converter technology could be housed in the control cabinet at the base of the mast. This makes installation, maintenance and future replacement of components simple and possible without costly work at great heights.
From Planning to Installation
Following approval of the building permit in May 2022, detailed planning could begin. The 25-metre-high tower was constructed using a hybrid design consisting of a concrete mast with a steel framework mounted on top.
In August 2022, LeuchtBau commissioned hansen to supply the LED technology. The LED hoses were pre-assembled at the hansen production facility, and the converter cabinets were equipped with the required technology.
LeuchtBau then installed the LED hoses inside the illuminated panels and assembled them at the new location in Barleben. In November 2022, the time had finally come: the HelloFresh advertising tower was put into operation.
The Result
Three large-format HelloFresh logos have since provided highly visible brand presence. At the same time, the energy-efficient hansen LED technology significantly reduces power consumption.
According to calculations by LeuchtBau, the combination of series connection and LED technology achieves more than 50% energy savings compared with conventional 12-volt technology.
GREEN LIGHT TECHNOLOGY
All hansen components used in the project are part of GREEN LIGHT TECHNOLOGY. Series connection reduces energy consumption and therefore also CO₂ emissions.
A GREEN LIGHT TECHNOLOGY certificate was issued by hansen for the project.
